Concessions for the Over 60s

You can travel free on buses, trains and Mersey Ferries if you are over 60 and live in Merseyside.

When you reach the State Pension age, you will be given a new national pass, which you will also be able to use on local bus services anywhere in England. The pass is valid during off-peak hours (after 09:30am on Mondays to Fridays and at any time on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays).

Children

Children under 5 travel free on buses and trains in Merseyside. Children 5-15 are charged a normal child price depending on the service you are using.

Children aged 18 and under can buy a day bus ticket called ‘My Ticket’ for a cost of £2.20. This will allow all day travel across all the bus operators in Merseyside. The ticket can be bought from the driver.

Dogs

Dogs on a lead can travel for the cost of an adult ticket except for working dogs which travel free of charge.

Dealing with change

To help us run the services smoothly the correct fare is always appreciated. Our drivers will provide change if they are able to do so. If the driver does not have change and you are not able to provide the correct fare then to continue your journey you will have to leave the money with the driver giving your name, address and contact number and he will hand it in to the duty supervisor who you will have to collect it from at a later time convenient to you. If this is not suitable then you will not be able to continue your journey.
